Anyone know if the ABS module is linked through the ECU chip?

Default Anyone know if the ABS module is linked through the ECU chip?
Not to open a can of worms here. I know the ABS is controlled by a seperate unit, but does the ECU have anything to do with any part of the operation of the ABS?
