I bought one just like it for ~$30 as kind of a 'whatever' purchase. Will it work?

it fits in the cupholder slot but leaves gaps on the sides. I cut a piece of dark plastic from a DVD case to cover the gap from behind. It was a pain but looks good now. It bothered me for a long time.
