Anyone know a source for an upgraded clutch disc only? I have an rs4 clutch, but would like to

My RS4 pressure plate only has about 15K miles on it, and I was thinking about keeping it for stage 3 if I could get a slightly better disc (yeah, I'm cheap).

After I bought my car, I found that whoever installed my RS4 clutch did not reset the self adjusting clutch mechanism. The clutch was installed 1-2 thousand miles before I bought the car. After I discovered what was wrong (took a little while for me to figure out something was wrong, let alone exactly what it was), I found that I had to have the tranny dropped to have the SACM reset. I figured while the tranny was out I should upgrade the clutch. I contacted Vast to see if they'd help me out, considering I only had 4K (at most) on the PP. They were hesitant, since it was not a new PP and they don't normally split up the kit. But considering the low miles on the PP and my particular situation they decided to help me out and sold me the Kevlar friction disc(thanks again guys!). Everything worked out perfectly and my clutch has been holding strong for 20K+ now :-)
So while they have separated the kit's before, I think they are pretty reluctant to do so and I think I was a special exception. I'm sure they don't want people using old PP's because then they could be blamed for causing a PP failure even though it wasn't their fault. So, if you have a lot of miles on the PP, I'd count that option out. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask :-)

if you currently have an RS4 PP and it works OK and it's relatively low miles then you may want to consider reusing it instead of taking a chance with a new one. I was one of the "lucky" customers to get a bad RS4 PP. I have a new one and it's fine...but labor for the reinstall sucked the wallet. Talk to VAST - they should be able to set you up.

any way to tell before installing in the car? It is not currently in the car yet, and it is new.

(throwout bearing) that was broken off. I'm not sure if the two were related. Hold the PP horizontally and make sure the splines reach the same height, I guess.
My SAC was adjusted properly so that wasn't the issue. I just had a new RS4 PP installed and it works fine. The previous one felt weird from the get go and I just lived with it for 9 mos but it got progressively worse.
