Default Anyone know the weight savings of a CF hood? (and a few other questions)

I'm getting a brand new hood anyways due to my recent accident and I was considering getting a CF hood. I have a few questions though. Keep in mind that I will be painting the CF hood to match my car.

1) What is the weight savings??

2) What is the best quality CF hood out there? I want something that will look and function 100% like the stock one and unless you open the hood you wouldn't be able to tell a difference.

3) Can you guys post some pictures of the CF hoods? I really would like to see pics of PAINTED Cf hoods.

Also, I've heard that people have had problems with the fitment of these hoods and I'm wary of getting a low quality hood.

Default Stock is ~36lbs.. CF ~8-10lbs..

Not many with a non-vented CF hood out there though. DTMAutohaus used to sell one but they only offer a vented one now.

You won't be able to use the stock hood prop anymore. The pressure is too high causing the hood not to sit right when close. It would also kinda tweak it to one side.

Painted CF hoods would look like stock. Just get one with proper skeleton underneath and smooth edges. You won't need a show quality weave since you will paint it.

I guess I thought that there was more of a weight savings than that. I suppose for only 25lbs or so it's not really worth the hassle to upgrade! Hmmmmm (wheels turning in head)

IIRC Sharon said they lost 31lbs from stock. And they painted it very nicely.

Default This one is pretty strong, but none for the S4 (yet) - unless there is an interest.

Default The only vented hood is the DTM Autohaus one...

The verdict is still out on the effects of the vents when it rains.

Default Probably not...

That is why I was opting for the vented hood but that kinda fell through. . I figure the vented hood would benefit in removing under hood temperatures. I'd live with the inconvenience of a manual hood prop and what not.
