Anyone with Pilot Alpins think they are a rather squirly snow tire? I remember my Blizzak's feeling

Blizzaks on my Avant it feels like I'm trying to turn a bathtub. All crispness has gone. This is on dry pavement, btw. Adding more air helped a little, but not much. Is this because of the soft compound, or is this just the way snow tires are? I'm not happy at all with the way they handle, and may go to all-seasons next year if I can't figure this out.

I have used both blizzaks and pilot alpins. The blizzaks were much looser than the michelins. I attributed it to the soft compound in the Blizzaks. Currently have Toyos and find them much like the blizzaks.
The michelins were by far the more stable tire in dry and wet conditions.
