Anyone running Nitto NT-01 tires for track days on 17" rims?....
What size tire/wheel are you running? I've got some 17x8 rims with old rubber and want to try out these Nittos. Can't decide whether to stick with 225/45R17 or go with 235/40R17 or even something wider.

You're going to have a hard time fitting wider than 235-40-17's.
Performance differential between the 225-45 and 235-40 is neglible. I've stuck with 225-45 because I know it'll fit for sure.

are you saying that because he has an 8" wide rim?
I run 245/40/18 on my 8" wide rim with no issues. the tire is a contisport contact 3. ET32 and the rubbing is pretty much just the fender liner
