just buy it... ~$160 for Al trim, ~$1200 for wood trim

HUH? The quote I got from audi was like $600 for all 6 pieces! Where are you referring to?

I may try to find a wrecked A4 first with metal, and try the stripping thing first if I can get the trim for really cheap.

the remaining ~$100 is the shifter surround and the piece around the foglight switches

Woh.. I'm calling tomorrow if that's so. Those are just black plastic though right?

I ordered my kit yesterday...they had everything except the top piece (around the foglight switches), which they expected to get this week. I should get everything next week...I can't wait to install it!

So, if you've sold your A4, what do you have now?

Pictures coming soon... First things to go, the damn seats (I'm 6') and the wood trim.. Calling the junk yards tomorrow looking for that black trim...

Here's the invoice/estimate I got from my Dealer:

The top 2 are the Dash pieces (left & right)
Then comes the 4 doors
The next 2 are the foglight switch surround and the shifter surround
Then, of course, the ashtray

Unfortunately, you cannot order just the ashtray cover...you get the entire ashtray 'housing', without the actual metal ashtray insert.

I'm not sure I trust this completely, since I watched him look thru the Audi parts catalog to find these numbers, and everything was listed as 'A4 parts'...I'll validate it when I get my stuff from Clair

Be careful about the 3 center console pieces if you get them from a junked A4...the ashtray may be the same across different years, but the other 2 pieces are bound to differ, esp the top one
