I know Audi pays for all oil changes up to 50k miles, but they don't use synthetic so you have to pay for that, and the filters are relatively inexpensive from Clairs. So for me it's worth it for the extra piece of mind and the no hassles with scheduling apointments and what not. Anyone know what the stance is on warranty issues regarding your own oil changes? Do you have to get the dealer to sign off on each service interval? I believe they would have to prove that the oil change,or lack of, caused the engine failure, or if there is no engine failure then it would be no problem. Anyone have any input? Thanks

And then take your own oil to the dealer. That way you are in their computer as being a good boy and you can preserve your engine at the same time.
