Default Overtorqued mine, but the fix isn't bad...

I'm assuming you're talking about stripping out the throttle body... I did a thread repair without removing anything but the bipipe-- the repaired threads are better than ever.

http://www.hotrod.com/howto/97018/</a

Default Yes. It was in good shape. (edit)

I don't remember the exact details (sizes), but you need to drill out the hole just a bit so that the appropriate tread insert will fit...

Default Wow......

thought it was just me. I never stripped any out, but I've found them with the bolt just in place, already stripped out. Found 2-3 like that before I installed my first new one. I'm out of them now, but I had a handful of random bolts that were the same thickness/thread pitch, but longer than the ones needed. I modified/fabricated new bolts, and always used one of them for that top right spot. Wierd though, huh?

Thread repair works too though.

Default Installed mine this month and...

Man what a PITA. The lower left torq head was stripped. I took some major time and effort and a pair of vice grips to get that sucker out. Also when putting the BP back on it wouldn't slide all the way onto the throttle body so the long upper screws just barely reached the TB and one started started to strip out the TB. I realized this and took an alternative approach to getting the BP on... I put a screw driver below the torq head on the BP at the arrow:

A few taps on the end of the the screw driver with a hammer and the BP moved farther on the TB and I was able to start tightening the three screw securing the BP very gently and a little at a time until it was all the way on.

Anyone else have trouble getting those damn IC hoses back onto the new BP?????

Default FWIW, I always put the passenger side hose on the bp, then install .....

the bp onto the throttle body, then connect the drivers side hose, & finish securing the rest of the stuff from there. I'm sure yours is done, but if you ever get the chance to help someone else out. ;-)
