Not only did they keep his apr stage 1/2 octane chip.. they didn't transfer the anti-theft feature that WAS on my stage 3 ecu. I definitely won't miss this part of dealing with APR. They have the unique emcs number that they assigned to my ecu and should have record of what was on the license file.


From the person who bought my stg 3 ecu:
"Just got off the phone with APR, and i'm out the 93program from my Mbox, but anywho, i asked them about the anti-theft, and they said that they just transfer whats on the ecu. but he said that if you happen to have the receipt, they would put it on, or at least send me the file to do it. they also didn't send me a license file because they did the programming, not me. had i used the home programer to do it, i would have the file."

When I bought my used APR Stage 3 both Brett and Andy were way more then helpful... (Software update, got more programs)

I just think it's lame for them to try and squeeze $299 out of the guy for anti-theft when the unique emcs number assigned to the apr chip in my ecu should corresponded to their in-house records.

So you had them "flash" over your old program for a stage 3 file?

I sold my ecu. The buyer sent his stage 1 ecu and mine to apr and paid $150 to have my stage 3 transferred to his ecu (different boxes). I'm not sure why they would only re-flash his ecu since that would prevent the use of the home programmer, correct? That would definitely explain why he didn't get his 93 chip back. In that case, it would've made sense for him to buy a spare stock ecu and have that flashed.

removed the one from the A-box, and kept it. not a big deal, the chip was in my car when i bought it. but the anti-theft should have been done. they said that the only way they well give it to me is if i can produce a receipt that says he purchased it. other than that, they have no record of it, and only transfered what they "saw" on the a-box.
