Default APR Stage II+ and emissions

If you go stage II+ and lose the cats, how do you pass emissions? Seems like it's WAY too much work to R&R the stock catpipe every year.

If you use test pipes and not the cats, you will of course flunk the emissions test!

I doubt it, new cars run sooo clean that I would doubt if the cats make that much difference.

Default APR will even tell you that test pipes are "legally" only for the track not for the street.

Call them and ask yourself.

The Downpipes are only legal for the track and not the street - removing the pre-cats is illegal

Default I would absolutely think so. without dyno emissions testing there should be no problem...

my 93 formula LT1 passed emissions with no cats.

Default that is b/c it is illegal to modify your emissions equipment, not b/c it will cause the car to

fail it emissions test. Disclaimer: I a not 100% positive of this but have spoken with some much more mechanically inclind people about this and they all have had the same reaction. My emission test in CT just netted me around 5 parts per (billion)million???? for whatever they were measuring when over 500 parts is the legal limit, other emission tests on this car yielded even lower results. Again please no flame war

Default Most shops won't install the test pipes for road use. If you get busted...

the driver gets a ticket est.$200.00, but the shop that did it for you (if they find out) gets fined BIG time!! $5-10,000. That's what a shop in Boston told me.

Default I don't think the guys where I got my borla put in ever heard of emissions laws they couldn't give a

flying f, than again it was a shady install place near shea stadium in flushing, they would have bolted on a 5 inch pipe from the turbos back if I paid them for the install and some colt 45
