Default Two turbos to spool, tq comes on at a higher RPM, much wider tires on the S4, 550LBS more weight..

all conspire to not allow 1.6 60ft times.

Actually, after 17 years of drag racing, the only cars I've ever seen run 1.6's were on DOT or true drag slicks.

Narrower tires help an s4 get out of the hole, as the minimal slip keeps the boost up and keeps you from climbing out of first so fast.

The S4 also has a taller first gear, which hurts it's 60 ft times.

We have guys running in the 11's on this board that don't run 1.6 60ft times. And yes, they car drive.

Default What I was saying is a car running the same setup in TX and NJ

will run a slower ET here in CA. If you wish to look at it closer just look up some time slips for stock Lightnings. They seem to run mid to low 13's in NJ and TX but yet here in CA they only seem to run high 13's to low 14's. These cars are auto's so it is not all that much of a driver issue. I ran my 1.8t vs a moded lightning that had slicks which only ran a 13.6 at 100 mph to my 13.5 at 106.60 mph.

Default I know what your saying, I still stand by my last post though

to me it doesn't add up...the only thing I can really see changing things dramatically is a large discrepancy in elevation/weather other than that I'm skeptical.

Default Air temps, barometric pressure, track conditions, track temps

all effect ET's. As you can see most time slips outside of CA are during night cold temp runs, where as here in Socal all are tracks run in the middle of the day. Only track we have that runs during the night is Palmdale which is at 3000 ft running up hill into a strong cross/head wind.
