Simply put, it's great to be able to define the variables, and only those variables, that I want to log. And then log ALL of them at such an amazing frequency. For the most part, I don't even need to connect the data points - the frequency is so high, they essentially connect themselves!
I logged all of the variables below on ONE pull. I'm still in shock at how much easier this makes data logging. Previously, if I had logged all of these with VAG, I would have had to do about 6 or so different runs and still wouldn't come close to the data resolution that's done here in 1 run with APR's ECU Explorer.
Oh, not to mention that some variables available in ECU Explorer are not in VAG, such as "Gear" and "A/F Desired". "Gear" sounds so simple, yet it makes life so much easier when looking back at a long log afterwards.
And I haven't even really played with the Gauge View or the grapher included in ECU Explorer yet.
Ok, so here's what I logged all at once:
TIME
RPM
EngineLoad
BoostPressureDesired
BoostPressureActual
BoostFrequencyValveDutyCycle
IntakeAirTemperature
ThrottlePlateAngle
IgnitionRetardCyl1
IgnitionRetardCyl2
IgnitionRetardCyl3
IgnitionRetardCyl4
IgnitionRetardCyl5
IgnitionRetardCyl6
IgnitionTimingCyl1
IgnitionTimingCyl2
IgnitionTimingCyl3
IgnitionTimingCyl4
IgnitionTimingCyl5
IgnitionTimingCyl6
IgnitionTimingAngleOverall
MassAirFlow
AirFuelRatioDesired
VehicleSpeed
Gear
And here's all the plots from that one single run:

for the next version which will allow people to check specific groups with one click amongst a few other things. Hopefully it will make it in the next rev.
