arrgh! can someone tell me how to get the damn battery out?
i thought if i removed the 8mm bolt on the left of the plastic thingy the wipers go thru, and the clamp on the right, i could push it far up enough to get the battery out. but it seems to be clamped at the base of the battery somehow, over a small lip edge at the bottom of the battery. how do i get around/remove/resolve these clamps?

Mine came right out. Just remove the weather stripping directly behind the engine, then take off....
that plastic "panel" where the battery cover is snaps into and then just loosen the hold down bolts/clips, should come right out. I only took off one of the clamps, but I took it ALL the way out, and then slid it over towards the passenger side and it cleared the other clamp/end.
