I searched, & went to the tech post. I tried the CC with tape, and a knife with tape, didn't help.

I can see the top 2 clips for the ac, but I'm not sure how to release them. I pushed down really hard, and pulled, nadda.

Take radio out. They are accessible from behind IIRC.

I use a flathead screw driver on the top right hand side as leverage..push it up and it will popopen

I can see the clips, with the radio out. I just don't know how to unclip them. How much force must be used.

i have the same problem. when i need to get the ashtray out, i remove the trim piece surrounding the shifter then reach my fingers under the tray at the very back and pull. works every time.
