Default I must be old school, but I love the lines of the B5 10x more than the B6 or B7. I could have ...

a B6 S4 with less than 10k miles on it and received a very fat employee discount through my brother, but I can't come to grips with how bloated the car is.

The B7 to me is even worse. The car is getting too smoothed out and the once boxey, straight lined body designs of German engineering seems to be going by the wayside.

I know this for sure, being and architect I am damn picky when it comes to proportions and geometry.

I will timelessly love the aesthetics and fit and finish of this car for a very long time. You can't beat the engine for tuneability (vs. the 4.2) so I definately am committed to the car!

I am not in a hurry to tune it or upgrade brakes or suspension. I want to enjoy the car in stages so that I appreciate it more and more over time.

Default i agree...i wish they'd put B5 style body panels

on a B6 chassis and called it a B7 though...and use some aluminum in there too...
the ideal small audi sedan/avant would be a B5 RS4 engine in a B6 stiff chassis with with some lighter body panels made to look like a B5...
i love the B5...but it is a 10 year old chassis design (still better than most though!)..

Well, in an entry-level luxury car, I can see why the auto would be preferred.

Default Being a tip owner for more than 3.5 years...

there are days i wished i owned a 6 speed...
my next car will likely have a standard transmission...if not for pleasure for the practicality (probably looking at cars with less power and not as wide a torque band) too...
