Default Audi S4 - question

I have a question, has not happened to me, but has happened to someone I know. They went in contracted and paid for a car. Next day, he went to go pick up his car. As soon as he took it out, it felt fine but while driving home. The car broke down ( didn't run) had to fix it and then the air conditioning would not work. He does not know what to do? Because he says this does not qualify for a lemon car. And he can't return it to the dealer? Does this mean he has wasted his money completely?

Did he buy it new or used? From a dealer or private party? Clean Title?

He bought it new at a dealer. Clean title. Unfortunately, the car was not in the best of shape for some reason...
