sure i know a clutch can last forever, but i thought we get one replacement out of graciousness. <EDIT> Yes the clutch is burnt out and I definitely do need a new one, warranty or not.
WTF is going on here? I'm beginning to realize with all the problems I've had that this may have to be my last Audi.

The theory is they won't replace it for free within the warranty period if nothing is wrong with it.

regardless, if you are less than or equal to 50,000 miles and there's something wrong with your clutch, you're entitled to a warranty repair. Unless of course, you had aftermarket clutch and pressure plate in there.

Mine was completely covered by the warranty. But the clutch was damaged. They said that there was no manufacturing defect and that the damage was caused by aggressive driving. They said there was some sort of deep groove in the clutch. They also had to replace some kind of position sensor. I'm not sure what it is or what it does. Total cost to Audi: $1,650 plus $180 Corolla rental.
