I expect that if I get the rear window tinted, the mirror dimming function will be disabled. As the car looks hot and stays cooler with the windows tinted, I wonder if there is an acceptable level of tint that will give me the heat reduction and still allow the auto-dim function to operate.

35% tint on mine. Mirrors still dim as expected.

Has anyone found a top quality tint that does not contain metal particles in it. My local installer tells me that anything without metal content will fade and turn purple.
