Default Auto-dimming rearview driving me crazy

Is there any way to turn this feature off? Its great when there is an SUV or a truck behind me, but on the freeway I hate not being able to clearly see what's going on behind me.

Cheers,
Jojo

Default

Small piece of black electrical tape over the 2 sensors and it shouldn't function anymore.

Default Wouldn't that make it dim all the time? Covering the sensors would provide no light to the sensor

hence the interpretation of night and the resulting dimming.

Is my interpretation bad?

Or maybe it's just covering the rear-facing sensor so it never sees "headlights"....can't recall.

Or, covers them, so they don't detect light, thus not auto-dimming.

Default Where is the sensor anyway

Well I can't figure out if it works by detecting low ambient light (i.e. nighttime) or if it detects flash of extra bright light (i.e. glaring headlights) and dims the rearview.

I've tried driving around with my thumb over the sensor but nothing changed. Maybe it wasn't the sensor? I assumed it was the little node on the bottom of the rearview frame.

I'll try covering it and waving flashlights in front of it this evening, if someone knows for sure where the sensor is

Cheers,
Jojo

Default I thought I read in the manual or on the video...

...that you could adjust the sensitivity of it somehow. Am I dreaming that?

There is a little sensor on the front portion of the mirror as well.

Default It is too bad there is not an on/off feature for this. I've tried tinkering with the sensors on the

front of the rear view mirror with no success. Previously covered them etc. No luck.
Since I've gotten used to it a little, but it still bugs me.

Default How many miles do you have? I found the sensors annoying at first, but now really appreciate the

feature when I drive cars w/o them...
