Auto-dimming rearview driving me crazy
Is there any way to turn this feature off? Its great when there is an SUV or a truck behind me, but on the freeway I hate not being able to clearly see what's going on behind me.

Wouldn't that make it dim all the time? Covering the sensors would provide no light to the sensor
hence the interpretation of night and the resulting dimming.
Is my interpretation bad?

Where is the sensor anyway
Well I can't figure out if it works by detecting low ambient light (i.e. nighttime) or if it detects flash of extra bright light (i.e. glaring headlights) and dims the rearview.
I've tried driving around with my thumb over the sensor but nothing changed. Maybe it wasn't the sensor? I assumed it was the little node on the bottom of the rearview frame.
I'll try covering it and waving flashlights in front of it this evening, if someone knows for sure where the sensor is

It is too bad there is not an on/off feature for this. I've tried tinkering with the sensors on the
front of the rear view mirror with no success. Previously covered them etc. No luck.
Since I've gotten used to it a little, but it still bugs me.
