Default I love the M3 just as much as you do (heck I owned one before the S4), but...

I find it funny that you come here and jock the M3 as much as you do. The car should speak for itself. Honestly we don't need you posting why the latest magazine says the M3 is superior to a particular car everytime you feel it's necessary.

Dude, just go drive that wonderful machine you have and don't worry what the owners of Audis, Porsches, etc. think.

Default So this is one guys opinion...

...something tells me the gist of this story would be different if he had 2 kids and a dog to think about. Not that I do, I'm just saying everyone will ultimately make up their own mind when it comes to subjective value and preferences. I would imagine, the only relevant articles that could sway an opinion are those with hard facts concerning mechanical stability, price per material value, etc.

I've never owned anything with more than two doors... but that has only been feasible due to the fact that my GF has only owned either a sport-ute or a mid-class sedan. I sure as hell ain't taking more than a couple of backpacks with me when travelling in my bimmer.
Justin

Default I am goign to stand up for mr. 321. do you think that he was giving everyone (more)

just a point of reference. there are a lot of people on this board that would love to run out and buy a RS4 if they were in the USA. but as it turns out there are some other options right here. why wouldn't this group want to see the review?
matthew(most moderated)k

Default RS4 is limited production. Compare your fat M3 to a 10k modified S4. S4 wins hands down!!!

Do your self a favor and everytime you think about posting **** here, go jack off or something to releave your anxiety...

Also, if you REALLY want a drivers car, why are you getting a 3450lb car with only 270lb torque that looks like ****... save yourself 300lb and add another 50HP and 115lb torque and get a real sports car - Z06!!!

Default I'm just posting for you'll to read (more)

It's not flamebait. This is an S4/RS4 forum & I'm sure you guys would be interested in hearing the reviews.

I'm not saying that which car is better or not. I have owned a Euro S4 (265 hp) for a year & also had my M3 during that period. If I could afford it I would have kept both cars because they both excel at what they do. For me, after a year of thorough evaluation & after the novelty of the new car wore off, the M3 emerged as better suited to my requirements.

We live in an extremely low rainfall (droughts are very common), high temperature environment which means that quattro is not essential & performance degradation due to heat is more pronounced on the S4 than on the M3.

I do miss the S4's shove of mid-range torque but one tends to get used to that hair-trigger like instantaneous throttle response of 6 individual throttle bodies & that banshee wail as the M3 accelerates up to 7400rpm. In fact it's kinda' addictive.

If I lived in a different area, then maybe I would have sold the M3 & would be cruising around in a chipped S4.

Default Uh, the RS4 is a wagon...

The M3 is a sedan. Different rides? Gee, I wonder why? Different cars, my friend. Shall we compare a Corvette to a mini van next?
Daphne

Default Hello! Daphne's post should be repeated: It's a *wagon* for cryin' out loud!

I'd still like to see a comparison of the E46 M3 vs. a $47000 ZO6 'Vette. Far more of an apples-apples debate.
