I think (key word here) that it's more aethetic and looks good. However...
it is as functional as your bigtoe w/ a hang-nail doing 110mph outside your driver side window.

What do you mean by functional?
Creates downforce for when you hit 200+ MPH? I have no idea.
Keeps the tailgate a little cleaner? Nope.
Personally, I like the Avant the way it is, although that's a decent looking wing.
