Avic D3 with upgraded speakers?

The head unit will respond to whatever load is connected to it. How it responds is based on how the head unit was designed. In this case, the bose speakers are a lower impedence than your standard car audio speaker so the head unit might be struggling a little to drive that load. The best thing would be to replace the speakers with 4 ohm speakers instead of the 2 ohm bose speakers. You might be better off running your own speaker wires to the rear speakers but it is possible to reuse the factory wiring.

i just put focal all around my car with the d3...only had to buy the wiring harness....i bought the whole kit with harness and metra kit on ebay 75.00 shipped and took into tweeter....they bypassed the bose system and ran focal speakers in the front and rear doors...ill look it up

all i just need is some base...lookin what to get, focals are way to high pitched great sound, but no bass at all...

The polyglass have better midbass output but the tweeters are very harsh. The more expensive K2P has much better midrange and high end response but the midbass is a little thin. How much power are you running to them? Maybe attenuate the tweeters a little on the passive crossover.
