So as many of you already know, I had major skepticism when it came to the DLS/DTS, from a safety standpoint. Upon discussing this on the forum, Innovator, suggested I check it out in person soooooo last night I asked S4AudiBeatU to bring it with him when we met up, thanx again.
Anyway this design sits a little better with me then the previous; also the lighter weight and downpipe cut outs are a nice touch. It has three possible break points, the tranny mount, and where the bar attaches to subframe mounts. I'm not all to crazy with the idea that bar relies on the bolts to break, esp with out seeing them or knowing what they are made of (S4AudiBeatU did offer to get them for me, but I had a bout of ADD and forgot), but it is feasible that they will break with the force of a collision. Once broken the bar looks like it would not interfere with the any drive train movement, making it no longer a threat, at least no longer a threat as much as Audi engineers originally designed. I think a fall back should be the bar itself having a weak point that could snap or crumble as well, however, I realize designing and implementing it would drive the cost of the brace up exponentially.
Would I buy it for my car, no, I want to see it break and not play what if games, then again I seem to do that a lot anyway (play what if games). Would I buy it for other things, yes, I was thinking with a little rope or cumfy cuffs and the right woman, I could have lots of fun with it.
I hope the AWE crowd doesn't think I don't like their products; truthfully I'm skeptical of everything, until tested or proven. So till our next debate.... Chris
