Default AWE downpipes

I need to replace my exhaust system and was looking for some feedback. I would like something more "civilized" so I think I'm going with the AWE twin 2 system and I was thinking of going with the AWE downpipes as well. The first question is, will the downpipes work on a tip? (The website says they're 6 spd dp's) and secondly, my cars flex tubes are thrashed, if I go turboback do I not need to get new ones? Thanks for any input.

Default Typically there are DPs for either 6 speed or Tip- they usually offer both....

if you get a set of DP's they will have new flex sections on them.

Thanks, I just checked the AWE website and they only have 6 spds listed. Hopefully they have something for tips

Default Take a look at ASP's DP's. Very high quality- 3" all the way down and they make them...

for tips as well. They are also about $100 less expensive.

I have never seen the AWE units in person but I have the ASP DP's on my car. The fit well, quality is excellent, and should flow a little better than the AWE's do. I am sure that the AWE product is excellent as most of their products are.

How do the dp's sound? I'm looking for something quieter, hence the twin 2 system.

Default I have both a Milltek 3" exhaust and a ASP tru dual. Even with the ASP DP's...

and the Milltek the car is very civilized. Almost stock'ish at idle and just a little throatier off idle, etc. It has zero drone but sounds very nice at a healthy or wide open throttle.

The ASP is quite a bit louder- but sounds great as well. There is definitely more volume throughout the whole rev range but you find yourself tunnel hunting just to hear the thing.

I really do like the understated sound of the Milltek 3"- I believe it is even quieter than the Twin 2.

The DP's (AWE vs. ASP) are probably not that different in volume but the cat back makes the most difference.

Thanks for the help. I'll definitely look into those options. My exhaust is so bad right now and Audi wants $4800 to replace the stock system so I figured I may as well get a better sound and more power for less money.
