Default I didnt see a crazy difference but I also need to do the dar-intake mod...

Other than that I think its a good option but if I had to do it again I would go with X-1's intake, seems more pratical and looks better. But s-flo if ur going for stealth. my .02

Default Reason I ask is that a lot of people seem down on all these open element intakes..

..other than the x-1. I want an x-1 but who knows if he will ever answer me. I was looking for something to tie me over for a while. I figured no intake will make a dramatic difference.. but is there any with the S-Flo? Or does the supposed heat soak really outweigh any benefits?

Default The S-flo is located inside the stock airbox so theres really no "added" heatsoak...

Along with the dar-intake mod you still get increased airflow allowing for a definite addition to hp, especially if your chipped, which you are. The airbox acts as its own protection from heatsoak. The darintake hole is located right above the wheel well so thats also taking in cooler air and not from the hot part of the engine, hence its increase in airflow yet cool intake temps. In my mind I will probably stick with my S-flo and do darintake unless I go stage 3 in which case i might do an open element type setup.

Default go for it. no real significant difference...

feeling wise... some ppl claimed there was a 30hp increase, i just noticed a lil louder acceleration and you can hear the turbo spool up a bit more... dont expect a day and night difference with the mod.

Default My 2 cents. If a modification is reasonably priced and actual delivers on it's claimed

performance improvement, by way of a number of people getting a benefit, there's usually quite a few people who buy it and then tout its advantages. How much response did your question generate?
