Default AWE SFlo Installation Question

Recently purchased and TRIED to install and AWE SFlo intake. I couldn't get the MAF to rest flush against the airbox, as it should. I could get it clamped, but had 4mm gap on each side. I tried rotating the aluminum intake pipe but no luck. Could the rubber seal be holding it up? I would think the MAF would press the pipe down as far as it needs to go. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

it's not catching on the lip or indentations of the upper airbox tabs. here's my story on my installation.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1093576.phtml</a

4mm seems abit excessive, I think mine was about 1mm. You can get the maf clamped to the box, right?

Default Were you able to fully swivel the clips that hold the MAF to the airbox?

If so, was the gap between the MAF and airbox even all the way around?

If so, that is the correct fitment.

The thickness of the tube flange will not allow the MAF to sit flush to the airbox like with a panel filter installed. The o-ring that we place beneath the flange forms the proper seal.

Default Re: Were you able to fully swivel the clips that hold the MAF to the airbox?

Hi Todd,

Yes, I was able to full swivel the clips back, but the MAF was definitly pulling closer to flush at those points vs. the sides or inbetween the clips.

The quality of this intake is excellent and I can't wait to get it properly installed. (when time allows.)

Thank you for your response.

Yea, I can get it clamped down, but the MAF is being pulled closer to flush at the point of the clips vs. inbetween/sides.

I'll try it again when I have more time.

Thanks for your help.
