Default IMO B6 and beyond was the death of a sport sedan and start of a boat

The B5 and the ones before it were all reasonably the same size.

If I wanted a boat or bloated I would buy a Cadillac. Not going to run down the specs down to the T but quick example:

B5 A4 - 2998 lbs 178" length
B6 A4 - 3406 lbs 179" length
B7 A4 - 3428 lbs 180" length
B8 A4 - 3527 lbs 185" length

Now the closest thing I can find to the size of car I want is a WRX / Lancer / A3. All are failures. Why?

No Quattro! The B5 will always be my favorite chassis because it never became an American car.

Default you telling me we have become honda civic owners now dumping more money into mods than the car

is worth? ))))

I felt that way buying my second S4 for $10k and seeing what I spent so far.

Have a GREAT Holiday Mike and a better New Year. I will be by to see you soon or you can come anytime just to get away if you wish.

Default In any case, I think if you enjoy what you're doing, it really doesn't matter...

I just don't think people should disregard all the nice new technology..

I'll see you soon sucka.

Default I love my GF's B7 A4 2.0tq S-Line... fantastic car with just a chip.

but if we're talking S4 vs. S4 from each generation, you're still wrong.

B5 ~ B8 (tuning potential unknown) > B7 > B6

as far as chassis alone go, I'd have to say B8 > B7 ~ B6 > B5.

Default My 2.45cc RC car kicks the ever loving **** out of any street engine you have and ever will...

...touch, see, read, hear, or dream about when it comes to specific output. At 1.8HP out of 2.5cc, that's 720HP/L.

As you can see, specific output is a bit of a flawed argument.

Yes, the B5 is old. In stock form, it is also slow. Comparing stock to stock, the newer cars are definitely better. The B6 and B7, however are both quite vanilla and don't stack up so great against the competition. Going by the reviews, the B8 looks like it is a return to what made the B5 so good. It is even more refined than the B7, and yet it still has the bit of spice which the completely absent in the B6 and B7 - but which the B5 had in spades (back when it was new).

Stop making so much sense. You are making me reconsider selling mine again.
