Turbowins

Anyone have any idea what I broke? Due to grinding the gears too much my transmission wouldnt go in second gear. That happened sometimes but over time and gentle driving it would loosen up and I would be able to shift into second easily, but not this time. this time it was stuck. A few days later as i was driving home from work i tried to force it into second (smart.. i know) and it actually went into second. The problem is that after i shifted out of second the shifter felt extrreemely sloppy and no matter what gear i shifted into the only gears its grabbing are 3rd and 4th. I could move the shifter into Second gear postion and it will still hit third. Also I could shift it to where 1st is supposed to be and freely move it horizontaly to where 6th is. Anyone have any ideas on what i broke?

Check the alignment of your shifter and the linkage under the car. I had a nut come off my linkage and had similar problems.
