B5 S4 vs C5 A6 2.7T vs B8 S4 - will the 'soul' of the B5 be replaced in the B8?

Just some numbers I thought I would throw out:
B5 S4 - 176.7 L x 72.70 W x 54.90 H - approx 3500 lbs
B8 S4 (based off A4 stats) - 185.2 L x 71.9 W x 56.1 H - heavier then the B7 so over 3,500 lbs! possibly closer to 3,800 lbs in the S4 - hoping for the 3.0L V6 TT
C5 A6 - 192 L x 76.10 W x 57.2 H - just under 3,800 lbs
So looking for others thoughts, will the B8 S4 still maintain its sports 'compact' sedan feel of the B5 S4? or will we be driving a boat like feel on the track like the C5 A6.
For example, your driving on the highway, and the B5 feels like you can zip through every tiny hole in traffic with the greatest of ease. The B8 making it feel exagerately like your trying to find a gap in traffic with your Boeing 757.
Compare too the LARGE jump that Altima did between 2001 and 2002, which nix'd it for me when I was looking for a new car during that period of time.
Keep in mind they have moved the engine back in the B8 so handling should be improved significantly.
Personal opinion is I bought the B5 S4 because it felt a tad bigger on the road then a Jetta, but with the powertrain it had the markings of a beast. Honestly, if I were in the market again, I would be looking towards more of an A3 offering because the A4 is getting TOO BIG!

why does a car continualy grow with the people that use to own them?
You likely don't drive your car with your 4 month in it like you did when you were younger? So the S4 had to mature with you, instead of you having to mature into an A6. Catch what I mean?
Personaly I would have loved to have a B8 S4 the size of the B5, with all the benefits of the B8 and what the S4 is. Instead I'm stuck with getting a A3 which doesn't compare at all to a B5 S4 other then the size.

when he was 4 months old I did not drive the car like I do when by myself or with him now at 2 1/2. The yellow lab just doesn't like it no matter what, I suspect the borla and avant make him not like it so much.

the wife has posted a "Speed and Agressiveness" limit with her on board ... but they don't ride with me during my daily commute! Ha!
