Back form my honeymoon...weird thing happened during my wedding weekend..quattro problems??
..I has making a right hand turn into a steep entry of a parking lot. The entry was dirt...with only the front right wheel on the dirt (and the other 3 on the pavement) I started to accelerate as normal.
That's when the front right wheel started spinning like crazy. Needless to say, I couldn't get into the parking lot. I was stuck.
If I'm correct, shouldn't quattro have distributed power to the other "non spinning" wheels? This is the first time I've been able to break loose a wheel in either of my S4's for a prolonged period of time. I found it odd.
Any suggestions? TIA

Any lights in the dash? and yes, your quattro should have....
used the brakes to transfer the power thru the front open diff to the side not spinning AND the torsen should have sent more (but no where near all) power to the rear axel. Can you scan for DTC's?

It is impossible for the center torsen diff to send all power to 1 axel unless..
There was something wrong with it. Properly functioning quattro IV can have 3 wheels in the air and it will try to drive the 4th wheel. Note that the axel in the air should have both wheels spinning freely at the same rate.

Here's the explanation I got when I posted about it...
