Default the lifters are pretty cheap, gotta pull the cams to replace em though.
there is are restrictors going into the oil galleries in the heads, if one clogged for some reason i suppose it could cause oil starvation within the head.

Default valvetrain oil supply is restricted pressure though - strange that higher pressure areas of the
oiling circuit wouldnt suffer more from starvation

EF's problem ended up being a cam bearing cap installed backwards from the factory FWIW

Um.. Lifters are expensive. .Its cheaper to buy a rebuilt head.
