It does SOUND like 1 bad lifter, but if I'm in there anyways, might as well start replacing stuff I don't ever want to again...who knows what the camshafts look like too
I really can't feasibly do this now so the S4 may become a yard car for a while

Can you e-mail me with any details on the heads? Also, would I only need to replace heads if I had bad lifters/possibly cams?

is a 45 torx head and a wrench around it and use that to undo the screw that's holding the oil pump gear to the oil pump shaft.
I did it like that and it was very easy. Any other way is close to impossible as the chain does not flex froward and back a whole lot.
