Just curious to see if any of your guys have relocated your battery to the trunk? I know it already sits back in the bay, so I don't think it would make a big difference, but I figured I'd ask, bored at work I guess.
Thanks,
Marc

Seems like a waste of money to me unless you were going with a large single turbo setup and needed to remove the false firewall.
That being said. I would install/fab a distribution block up front for the 12V+. Then run a single heavy gauge cable to the rear. Then get a really good grounding connection maybe even multipoint connect it.

I've heard one or two guys mention it on these boards before, but they were all serious tuners who spent a good amount of time at the track. It does help to redistribute the weight, but I can't imagine it's worth the effort for a DD. I imagine that relocating the battery weight to the rear has a more significant effect if you do a full weight reduction as well.

Several people have, STFA and you should be able to find the posts. From what I recall, most used a Braile battery in the CD changer/tool box location. I think it would be good for a track set up, but really I don't see effectively changing about 40 lbs as a mod worth the hastle for us DD crowd.

I put an Optima in the trunk on the passenger side. Rockford makes a -01 amp kit that has a fine stranded wire the is extremely flexible. They also make a slick distribution block so you don't have to rerun your ECU and starter cables.

Yeah wasn't sure if the grounding location would be a problem but the anchor was so convienent. So far no grounding issues since I went down to bare metal directly under the strap. It has full surface contact to the unibody - probably at least a full square inch.
We'll see how well it starts this winter in Michigan. Eventually, I'd like to use the factory battery opening for an airbox so that was my motivation. If i wasn't going to do this, I'm not sure it was worth the agrivation and $350 - car still pushes like there's no tomorrow.
