Default Ever been in a K04 car? You'd know there is no such "lag" to the driver.
They start spooling pretty hard around 2200-2300rpm. Only a 300-400 difference from K03s.

until they get the systems tuned right
no doubt that my car would be right there with a stage 3 against my stage 2++
