The Audi one is silver in some pics, but the one you get when you order is black. Does anyone know a silver audi part #

OR better yet, a cool rack made by ? that fits on the Avant rails??

THANKS

Default What attachments are you gonig to be using?

I went with Yakima on my sedan because I liked the round bars better for being able to line up the snowboard/ski attachments in line with each other.

For my Avant, I went with Thule, partially because my gf has Thule (and thus the attachments), and also because I liked the look of the silver snowboard/ski rack better:

Default I went Yakima

I went with the Yakima. 58" bars, lowrider rail mounts and steel-head trays. Thule makes a version of the Velovise with silver sidewalls. The look pretty cool but I don't like the velovice system. I've seen them pop open on several people. I've seen this on the old one and on the most recent version (locking them solves the problem). The other thing I don't like about them is the motion of reaching over the car and trying to push a lever straight down. The Yak wheel holders are nice too because you can rotate them up with out loosening or tightening anything. I assumed you're using bike trays, forgive me if you're not. Lastly, I like the aesthetics of the Yak lowrider mounts.

Default Yak

Nice design. Expensive. Mine takes about 5 minutes to take off and put on.

Default I went with Thule, they hook right up to the Avant with no hassle...

but the only thing that is silver is the bike attachment kit with fork mounting with the optional disk brake setup (Aero) or tube lock setup. You can carry mountain bikes with pad brakes or disk brakes. Those attatchments are brushed aluminum. Im very happy with the Thule setup for biking , camping, and snowboarding.
