i have personally banned bridgestone / firstone
also i am very hard on tires, driving & potholes.
pilot sports have been buller proof.
tread life and wet traction has been great.
i'm on my 2nd set now.

also, i think that Pilot sport might be slightly cheaper, not sure though - i reccomend tire rack or Zev@Avalonmotorsports.com

Better in the rain, superior grip, a little bit more rubber (more like 235's than 225's), and better rim protection...IMO. I have both in the garage 8^ )
Can't go wrong w/ either...

The pilots are $171 and S03's are $151...both have come down in price though.
Michelin's always seem to be more expensive than the comp. One bad thing about the S03's are they are a little porky, but hay you get more rubber.

most of my experience stems from high power RWD applications. I also sell both tires for and have more positive feedback from my customers on the So3's.
Anyway, the So3 has much better steering response and is much more forgiving (more gradual break away at the limit of adhesion). During a track competition or spirited driving the Pilot's will become almost as if they were greasey and actually lose traction the harder you push. The so3's seem to more consistently maintain their level of grip much better.
In RWD applications the Pilot Sports tend to cause **a lot** of wheel hop on certain cars (have a friend who blew a diff w/ them), whereas the So3's will just spin gradually until they hook up.
I actually prefer the BFG G-Force T/A KD over the Pilot Sport as well.
If you want a Michelin try to track down the old Pilot MXX3's......one of, if not the best, dry weather street tire ever made. BTW....a Michelin sponsored Viper that ran at the '01 C&D One Lap ran MXX3's instead of Pilot Sports....if Michelin feels that way then there must be something to it :-)
