Default bigger turbos

so i was an idiot and posted this in the b6 platform without looking like normal, but here it is for us turbo guys:

i'm looking to go big or go home...seems too many people do the easy k04 swap (which is good power), but i'm too stubborn and like to be more unique, thoughts on whats next up the ladder

Default Here two major issues that need to be overcome:

1. Room
2. Exhaust manifolds

There are other issues, but I think these two are the first big stoppers.

option 1
You want to be unique spend the big bucks to make us all new exhaust manifolds to handle some garret turbos. Then find a garret turbo that will match up well and fit in the space allowed.

option 2
Go really nuts and do some kind of single turbo conversion. Then, throw some huge dinner plate turbo on there. This has been done already by KTR performance.

Default GT2871R

I have been looking at this turbo for some time and have been considering either it or a set of K24's.

There are many tuning and hardware issues to be resolved in either case.

Default Here is a compressor map for you.

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/48790/gt2871r_-_compressor_map.jpg"></center><p>It lists as a GT30 but the naming convention has it as a GT2871R.

At 38psi you are still in the 72% efficientcy island. Check out the air flow capability.

Default Would that be with the No2 injection or without?

I wonder how the streetable power is with such large turbos. Having been in a few large turboed cars I have observed the power onset in the upper RPMs to be less than desireable but the power to be aweinspiring. It comes down to driving style and desired result.....IMO.
