There's no doubt they will say that it's because of the upgrades. Good advice on the oil cooler info.
However, the advice came from a very reliable source and I've seen it posted here on AW as well.
At the very least it makes them aware that something may be going bad prematurely.
And who knows maybe someday AOA will do something about it.

it's costed them $$$$ in warranty claims. The last of the 2.7T's are falling off the certified warranties, and maybe a few Allroads left.
They aren't going to expend $0.02 of energy or effort into this engine.

if Audi screwed up and cut corners to save money and it's costing folks in the long run, they may not be able to hide from it..
Recalls have happened longer down the road then 4-6 years..
I say it's worth it, log it with NHTSA Flyboy or Mirror started it..

I filled out that NHTSA form about 6 years ago on the wet braking issue...I'd say that's about enough time for them to respond. And we're talking BRAKES, not coolant in the engine.

that there's a certain critical mass that has to be met before the NHTSA investigates an issue. The fact that two or three people lodge a complaint isn't likely to generate any action, but if they see a widespread trend it's probably more likely to be looked into.
