Default Blew out a tire and CAN'T FIND A REPLACEMENT!

I was driving home from work and heard the tire blow. I have had flat tires before, but never experienced a car-shaking blow out. The tire is shot with less than 2,000 miles on it - a new Michelin Pilot Alpin (stock size 225/45-17). It seems that I ran over a nail or something similar -- but this did not stay in the tire (only a puncture hole). I didn't drive on it very long (a few hundred feet, maybe) but the sidewall appears folded/ruined.

I purchased the original tire from Tire Rack, and they were kind enough to offer me a replacement for 1/2 off -- before they determined that no such tire existed. After spending the day trying to find a replacement, one dealer located a single tire and had it shipped overnight only to find that this new tire was also damaged! I have not been able to find anyone with a another replacement tire (searched the internet, called a variety of tire dealers and audi dealers, etc.). Even Michelin tried to search their dealers but was not able to turn one up.

Any ideas before I throw in the towel? Anyone with an extra Pilot Alpin of this size they might be willing to part with?

Thank you very much for putting up with my sad story.

Tom

Try calling dealers in Colorado, Utah, etc. They usally stock up on those tires during the winter.

Default FOUND!!! Thanks to 'System_S4000 Le DOH'

A dealer in Colorado referred me to a local tire chain that had the tire. It is on it's way to my tire dealer for Monday mounting.

Thanks!
