block 115 and limp mode due to EGT (G235...)

Hi,
lately i'm having some DTC's related to the passenger side EGT (G235 : short to ground, open, short to plus)
questions are :
1) do these EGT related dtc's always put the car in limp mode (without the CEL light, however) ?
2) i've read (here somewhere) that when those dtc's occur, the ecu reduces the max. boost to a safe level.
now, while logging block 115 (boost) with vag-com, i can sometimes see an interesting difference between the requested and "effective" boost (can post pictures if you want).
As this difference is only intermittent (ie it seems the turbo's normally give the specified boost), i now wonder if the requested boost in block 115 does not show any safety correction, ie it show the requested boost wanted under ideal conditions, not the one really requested while in "limp" (boost reduced) mode ?
can anybody enlighten me ?
PS : car (unchipped) normally goes like a rocket, just some strange "vacuum cleaner noise" in 4th gear between 1000-2500 rpm ...

Actual boost is based on the parameter in the ECU as if it's running normal. If there's a limp mode set, it may not relay the actual requested boost (allowed boost) in block 115.
For block 112, you should see 1035 with key on engine off for both banks. Once the engine is started, you should see 945. If you have any other numbers, that respective EGTS is bad.

the car goes into limp mode for almost all of my commute (50 miles each way).
I have been watching the boost gague that I have (blitz ddc). normal boost spike to .67-.72 bar and holds tight in the high .20 to high .30 bar for acceleration. now when it goes to limp mode from the EGT (im geting the same DTC for the passenger side) it only spikes to .46 bar and regular accel is like .25 bar.
i dont know about if its done for a saftey reason or by pure failure of the sensor.
i plan to replace it in the next week or so. i have a uuc VM3 and gonna try to see if i can get it under warranty - as its a known faulty sensor in the car, and not attached to the VM3.
shoot me an email if you wanna compare bitch sessions or dealership stuff.

As someone suggested, you can log EGTs. The readings on my faulty sensor would hop all over the place.

am novice - transmission is in limp mode - dealer attempted to check fault memory of the computger system and was unable. could not use blink code data because vehicle is not equipped with a check engine light - says transmission does not appear faulty thinks problem is more than likely another module locking the data system or a wiring issue. Dealer pulled the instrument cluster and found that fuses were all ok, fluid level within specs, wire connections ok - sayss there is possib ley a break in the wiring harness. . . can't communicate with the computer and need to communicate with the computer syetem to pin pont the problem.
any suggestions?
