Default blown turbos.....

hey i was wondering how often do turbos blow?

also what causes turbos to blow. is very hard driving continuously or what?

how much does a turbo cost to repair if you do have warranty.

thanks

Default I believe the "weak link" is the...

...engine management system, not the turbos. It is the responsibility of the engine management system to keep the turbos operating within their design parameters. It must protect the turbos from overspinning, pressure spikes, overheating...(Note: bearing failure is not necessarily caused by oil flow problems)

Turbos themselves are well understood and in use on many many engines. In fact, every "18 wheeler" you see on the highways uses turbos, and they log many many more miles than any of us.

IMHO
