Default I can't wait until I run into somebody with one that really wants to open it up. Should be fun down.

Default Definitely beatable, but not in Stage 2 form. Especially beyond the 1/4 mile. Drive one or against

one and you will be impressed. It is one great car.

Well, I can find M5's, so far it's just that they don't get them for the reasons we buy S4's.

Default Hey, Bimmy....maybe YOU can answer this:

How does the M3 (honestly, now) ride compared to a stock S4? Or, failing that, compared to a 330ci w/sport package? I've been trying to get a straight answer to this for some time, and nobody I've asked has bothered to answer. I am genuinely curious, and would appreciate your candor.

Btw, where you been? Haven't seen you here or on the Bimmer forum, and was starting to get worried! ;-)

Default That is funny. Around here and on the West Coast M5 owners actually drive them. When I was down

South on business, most M5's I saw were driven by older gentlemen who had no desire to drive above 65 mph... 8-P

Default Well, what you run into down south is what we got around Detroit..sometimes even....

some older chicks driving them too. The only time I ran into a real M5 driver...he was getting a ticket and I was in my beater car.

Default My experience...

I was at a BMWCCA school at Buttonwillow and about 4 instructors had M5's and as luck would have it mine did. Most of them came out of E34 M5's or 540i 6 speeds prior to the new car. My instructors was stock except for BBS RC's with Hoosiers. HOLY SH**!!! We were just flying around Buttonwillow. Power everywhere, great brakes and a suprisingly taught suspension for a stock car. Like you said, when he shifted to 4th on the back straight it was like he hit warp drive. The car would just launch. Truly amazing for a car you take the family to dinner in. It is not as if my car is slow and I decided right there I would have one one day (or maybe an M3 :-)).
