I ask because I was recently shown photos of a block that had had a piston holed from detonation and I was curious how much borring that would need.

either a sleeve or boring to 82.5 mm and larger custom pistons.
My interest was in a RS4 block that had been damaged and whether a bore from 81 to 82.5 would be sufficient. Remember, I have a 3.0L crank. So 82.5 mm is ideal for me.
If I had a damaged block such as this, that's how I would use it -- overbore to 82.5 and then use a 3.0L crank.

and as I said below, if I can get better pricing on turbos and even make the work a bit more efficient, I would look into lowering the price a bit more.
