Have had a problem with my 00 S4 now for about a month. It is stock for the most part with a giac chip and the genius before me decided to take off the cats entirely along with the resonators. Up until this past month, boost has come on strong and everything seemed fine. Coinciding with the cold weather I believe, the car started having boost issues in which it would boost fine for a few take offs and then there would be a lack of boost where it would only go to 4-5psi. I didnt notice any changes or anything noticeably evident for this problem however it is very intermittent. Sometimes it boosts fine, peaking at about 14 psi then holding at 11 and other times it will not boost past 4-5. No real way ive seen to get it to return to boost sometimes shifting through the gears will work other times it doesnt.
Fixed a couple small boost leaks at the rubber hoses, put new dvs and put oe ngk plugs back in it, cleaned the maf, almost out of ideas. its got a few codes that were pulled with a generic obd2 scanner:
P1122
P1118
P1114
P1140
P0140
P0159
The last two are for the lack of cats and rear o2 sensors, any ideas as this problem is really irritating, love the car when shes going like hell and I'd like her back to normal, thanks

Run VAG blocks 115 (boost) and 3 (throttle, MAF). Post a request in your local forum for some VAG help if needed.

but first research those codes. Sounds like you need a good indy shop who knows our cars, and can do a pressure and smoke test.

they have a few miles but they still spool up really good and dont make abnormal noises, had an eclipse long ago and when its turbo went bad, the car smoked and it sounded annoying while spooling up
