Straight from our website:
For customers who purchase our Split Downpipe system, this new Borla system will offer a full 2.5" exhaust path after the merge in the downpipe with zero fitment issues. For other customers who have an older version of the Borla exhaust, you can simply purchase the larger Y-pipe and insert it into your existing system.
LaBree Motorsports decided to make this happen for 2 main reasons:
1. To eliminate additional tapering of the downpipes below 2.5" at the cat-back connection. This enables customers to realize the full potential of their exhaust upgrade.
2. To increase the ease of install for LaBree Motorsports & other consumers/tuners who purchase their exhaust systems for the Audi S4 from TantrumWerks.
Basically, if you run Split DPs, you can get our Borla specific connectors & make the smallest portion of the exhaust 2.5" instead of 2.25" or smaller (other systems). Milltek & AWE use similar connections when their DP's are mated to their cat-back systems.

I love the borla sound clips I've heard but it's tough to determine how loud it really is at or near idle. My neighbors are pretty close and I'd rather not start any trouble when starting the engine and easing out the driveway. Loud at full throttle is no problem. I'm already sold on the split downpipe design.
thanks,

As soon as I can get the video clip of Vtec Killer's car sorted, I'll post it on our site & on the forum.
It's nowhere close to a VM3, just nice & deep.

the new Borla is the same but the rear resonator has the Y transition in the muffler(removes the sandblasting sound some have seen) from 3" to dual 2.25 iirc. The Neuspeed G2 is a 3" system but necks down in both the muffler and resonator to 2.5".
Like Dan says probably not a problem in a Stg2 car but Stg2+ I'd want a 3" if I could get one.
