Bosch F7LTCR Copper +3 plugs suck.
They weren't my choice, put in at last service, I should have looked up the part number when I got the car back.
I had about 3800 miles on them, and I'd noticed that my low end off-boost power had been down for quite a while, I needed to blip the throttle to get off the line without bogging etc, I attributed it to the heat.
Last night I brought my rpms up to 1200 and held it there, the engine was stumbling and couldn't hold rpm. VAG misfires were on all cylinders, and going up very fast.
I pulled a plug and the center ceramic was white except for the spark tracks on it, obviously not cold enough for the S4.
I put in my old set of Denso iridium plugs that had been returned to me after service. Car fired up instantly and idled smoothly, throttle response was hugely improved in neutral, revving actually did something. No misfiring or stumbling at 1200RPM, and I could easily idle off the line again. Off boost power is much better, a slight hiccup during the transition from vacuum to boost is gone, and power on boost is smoother and stronger. Actually a few hiccups are gone.
These plugs are for the VR6 and 2.8, bosch does not list them for the S4. I didn't like the design, it ran the spark very close to the ceramic (there were spark tracks on it) it seemed like the spark was very isolated in between the 3 electrodes.
