Bottomed out hard on my oil pan, uggh. Does $600+ sound right?...

sounds about right.......
I recently had a similar experience, unfortunately mine was closer to $700 because I smacked the oil pan (destroyed it) smack where the sensor is. and hosed the under belly insulated cover thing. although I was only going 35-40, but one hell of a frost heave/dip.

Hey Pat. Nope on the 23 south...
Near L.A. Ave. I knew there was a bump, but I had NO idea of the severity. I am filing a claim with CalTrans. Everyone I know who drives that direction tells me how they almost get air! I guess it's the worse in the number two lane (furthest to the right).
