Bought a "GIAC chipped" M-Box ECU on ebay only to find out it's not chipped...
So I just took it to Jeff @ Torque Factory last night for the latest software update and to install it. He opens up the box and no chip. There is a little dapter board with the letters "GIAC" on it, but it's a stock adapter board but no performance chip anywhere in sight... So thankfully I paid using paypal and so should be covered, but you never know.
I don't think the seller tried to scam me, just think he didn't know any better or then again who knows. Was this the eBay auction that closed for $485? I planned to bid...
then forgot (hate when that happens)... the auction did not hit the reserve, so I contacted the seller, and he came across as shady.
He refused to guarantee that the ECU would work upon arrival... he just kept saying "I promise it works right now." Wouldn't give his last name, provided incorrect cell number... complete loser.
Any similarity to your transaction?
