Alright so here's where I stand... Mike from VAST and I are trying to figure out why my car cannot keep a good idle when just sitting still with clutch out in neutral. my car idles from 760 to 800 to 840, it can't stay still. with VAG on my lap it changes almost every second or two it will jump 40 rpms then jump down again. My car is running AWESOME when im driving but @ idle i find that i start racking up some misfires. not many, less than 20 ish but only at idle will this happen. Mike wants me to check for a whining sound from under the intake mani. we went into group 032 on VAG and my fuel trims are great as he told me on the phone, i have a new hitachi MAF so thats not it, NO boost leaks, so as you can see were running out of options. he also had me try holding any engine speed constant above 2000 RPMS so i tried 2500 and i got it dead on for 10 seconds i could of held it all day if i wanted to.... WERID HUH!? anyone have any more ideas we can try ??? i really am thinking my stupid *** brake booster valve but i guess those dont go too often or dont go. when i come up to a stop sometimes my vacuum will leak up to 19-20 ish awkwardly to the point where you can hear the engine bog but then goes back to 21. sometimes my needle in vacuum sits DEAD at 21 sometimes it will sit at 21 but vibrate!
oh and to add, we also tried with me sitting still putting the clutch in, that doesnt do anything. we also tried raising the idle in the adaption channel 01 and even when we raised it to 840 it would still fluctuate
